I was expecting it to be slow, but not this slow. It depends on a lot of different factors which we don't have any control over.
I've added a documentation step at http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview3.3:upgrading#version_specific with some steps that you can take to reduce the amount of data being changed.
