Hi Martin, I struggled with exactly the same issue.
Not too sure what eventually fixed it but on Ubuntu 8.04 I ran through: 1. Run the promote mib function manually from the CLI for every OID listed in the trap 2. Manually restart snmpd 3. Run apt-get update and apt-get upgrade 4. Leave it for a weekend When i came in on Monday morning all was good. As I say i really don't know which one fixed it for me but the traps are now getting recognised! If we promote the trap it's successfully recognized but next time the same trap arrives it goes directly to trap exceptions. Is there a way to configure the snmptrap handler to process the trap even if it is not fully translated and create trap rules based on the trap OID instead of the trap name? Any ideas or help would be appreciate it Regards Manuel Marín Transtelco US 1.915.2172232 MX 52.656.6921109 FAX 1.915.2311214
