Hello,

I am trying to install opsview as a master on a box with CentOS 5
(2.6.18-164.el5) installed and as a slave on a box with RHEL4 update 8
(2.6.9-82.ELsmp) installed. I'm aware that the installation guide calls for
identical arch and os installs on both machines, however, I decided to push
through with it despite my better judgment. The roadblock I hit was this
step
from this page:

http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview3.3:slavesetup<https://webmail.vt.edu/horde/util/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.opsview.org%2Fdoku.php%3Fid%3Dopsview3.3%3Aslavesetup&Horde=f2487b4725376608b7ab27726a97bd40>

4. On the slave server run the setup program

su - root
cd /usr/local/nagios/tmp && ./install_slave

The script would not run because the slave has installed an older version of
glibc (>=2.5 required). My question being, is it possible to push out an
older
version of opsview (<=3.1) on the master that'll take on the slave? Or will
the
script not run for other reasons?

Thanks,
Ben
