I have just checked again and it appears to be for all windows hosts.

Removed and re-added one of the older servers and got the same error message.

Any thoughts

Kind regards,
Matt

Subject: [opsview-users] SNMP "Query Host" returns an error

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is an error with SNMP on my server/Ospview/Remote servers I
am trying to monitor but....

When I add a new server (HP ML360G5 or Dell 2950III) to Opsview and hit the
Query Host link to get the interface details I get the following error along
with what looks like the valid xml data

query_host returned invalid XML: <data> <host sysContact="Wavex Technology"

</data>

which if I send through an XML parser is thowing up an error that the<data> is
not defined. If I add the same server into cacti (running on the same server as
Opsview) I am able to add the device and start to draw graphs for the host
without a problem. Is this a bug in the way Opsview is reading the data back
from the host or has anyone else had similar issues?

Incidentally the Cisco switches/Dell 1850/2850s that I have had from day 1 in
Opsview have not had an issue.

Any thoughts or things I can run from the CLI on the Opsview box to try and
narrow this down would be appreciated.

Thanks
Matt
