That all depends on how that system is set up and how it can be queried - via SNMP or other method. Can you elaborate any more about the system in question?
Also, at an
application level can we send Opsview figures that we would like to be
monitored? For example we would like to keep a trend of the number of "Messages"
(which are defined by the application) received for a service and again
send alerts if the number of "Messages" breaks pre-defined
thresholds.
This is all automatically set up when plugins produce performance data (perfdata) - as long as plugins return the stats you want.
