If you create it as a service check there is an option to invert plugin results, I've never tried to use it but it sounds like what you are looking to do..

OpsView shows the primary link "OK" and the backup link "DOWN". This is expected. The backup stays down until the primary fails. What is the best way to configure this? Seeing the "Unhandled - DOWN" every time I look at OpsView is a distraction. I can't use scheduled downtime, because I need a notification when the primary fails and also a notification that the backup has successfully come online.
