I'm new to configuration of the monitoring checks for Windows clients running
the OpsView client and had a question. I have a situation where I'd like to be
able to include a service monitor if it exists on a Windows machine but it is
ok if it doesn't. The default service check brings back a critical issue if
the service doesn't exist. An example is the SharePoint Timer service. If it
exists it needs to be running. But if it doesn't exist then SharePoint is
probably not installed on the machine and for my purposes that is ok for it not
to exist.
Anyway to reconfigure the default command to allow this? Is there
documentation somewhere on the format of this command? The NRPE.pdf I reviewed
didn't really help that much.
check_nrpe -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c nsc_checkservicestate -a 'ShowAll
SPTimer=started'
