I’m trying to set up opsview from an existing nagios configuration.
I have problem with hosts that have no service check commands only host checks. I can’t see them in status menu neither in „status/host detail” nor in „status/Service detail”.
I have servers that I only want to ping if they are alive or not, so I don’t need any other service checks.

I’ve figured out that if I only define one service check (ping) and I don’t define any host check to a host then it works but this is not what I want.

Is there any solution for this, or it is just a misconfiguration from my side?

You can set a check interval on a host for it to be regularly checked, but it is a feature of Opsview that we assume all hosts have at least one service assigned (even if its a no-op check) for the status pages to pick up on it - see the first section on http://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:servicecheck

With no service checks assigned you can still see nagios is checking it by hitting a nagios cgi page, such as '/cgi-bin/extinfo.cgi?type=1&host=<hostname>' but thats not very useful from the status pages.
