Hi to everybody!!!!!
I installed opsview and I’m monitoring 1200 devices, more than 3000
services.
For now, I separated monitoring server and Db server and installed
all on VMs. I’m working heavily with nagvis.
For an unknown reason, MRTG does not work, but it’s not my main
problem
I made a big mistake: I installed the system on 32bit.
I know, I’m guilty… but I pray for redemption…..
Anyway, now my master server is on high CPU overload.
How can I migrate to 64bit? What is the procedure to keep all the
data and config that are already in place? Will it resolve my
overload?
Do I have to migrate both the servers?
The three biggest improvements we see:
* Make sure Apache is proxying from port 80 to port 3000:
http://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:debian-installation#using_apache_as_a_proxy_server
* Move db onto a dedicated server:
http://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:dbs-on-diff-server
* If you have a lot of concurrent users, set Opsview web
application server to use preforked servers: http://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:prefork
If I install a slave, will it free some resources on the master
server?
The next biggest is to have a dedicated master with slaves doing the
actual checking.
How can I mass transfer the host checks from the master server to
the slave? With import_excel?
I think 3.7.2 is missing a fix to allow moving hosts using
import_excel. You can drag and drop the hosts on the monitoring
servers page. You could run a SQL query, but be careful!
