Thanks for this. We've found the root cause of this now and have
updated trunk. This will be in the upcoming 3.8.3 Enterprise release
(this week) and the 3.9.1 Community release (next week).
The failure stops the synchronising of state from master to slave,
which is not critical to the distributed functionality.
