Position: *Data Warehouse Developer*
Location: Lansing, MI
Rate: $ 68/hr Max C2C
Duration: 6 Months
*Required skills:*
Work comfortably with both technical and business users at all levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Assist in the design, development, and implementation of additional
data sources and data elements into the existing Enterprise Data Warehouse
Participate in Data Modeling sessions, make changes per the Project
DBA
Participate in JAD Sessions and other formal and informal discovery
sessions with users and customer IT personnel to identify requirements and
develop design specifications for data warehouse projects and corresponding
applications
Design/Develop logical (using CA Associates Erwin Data Modeler),
physical (Teradata) and semantic data models (Hummingbird BI, Business
Objects)
Participate in change control, problem management, and communication
among associated team members
Design, develop, test and implement programs, UNIX scripts and
processes to extract, transform, clean and load data from source systems
into the data warehouse
Develop, test and implement reports using Hummingbird BI, Business
Objects, Crystal Reports
Provide implementation recommendations, work plans, and estimated
hours and time frame estimates
Participate in processes to ensure a consistent, well-managed, and
integrated data warehouse infrastructure
Work in a team environment with other Ingenix team members and the
customer user and IT personnel
*PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:**
*
BS degree in MIS/Computer Science or equivalent experience is
required
Minimum 3 years work experience in information technology is required
Experience with design, development and support of data warehouses is
required
Experience with Teradata relational database is required
Strong SQL skills are required (Teradata)
Experience with ETL/ELT processes is required
Ability to interact with Business Users and other technical staff to
identify requirements and design processes is required.
Experience with Teradata utilities such as FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ,
OleLoad, and TPump is required
Experience with UNIX Script writing is preferred
Experience designing a 3rd Normal Form data model (not a Star Schema)
is preferred
Experience with ERwin data modeling or similar tool is preferred
Experience with IBM's ETL tool set (Data Stage / Quality Stage) is
preferred
Experience with other relational database technologies such as
Oracle, is preferred; experience moving data from Oracle to Teradata is a
plus
Experience with Business Objects, Crystal Reports or Hummingbird BI
is preferred
Health and Human Services experience is preferred
Government System (State, Federal) experience is a plus
Experience with Cobol or Pearl or C or 2005 Visual Studio (.net) is a
plus
Our Michigan-based team is looking for a skilled Teradata developer who has
done some data modeling and utilized a UNIX environment to prepare data for
upload to the Teradata. Working within a team environment, this individual
must be a self starter and have the ability to extract data from many
different source environments and load it to the Enterprise Data Warehouse
(Teradata). This individual must be able to work with Business Users to
determine requirements, create detail system specifications, develop
customized software; unit and integration test the software and provide
documentation for all work.
