Location: Jersey City Duration: 3 months to start and renewable in the new year. *SUMMARY* Design and develop Market Data Systems software components, to provide low latency and highly reliable datafeeds to proprietary trading desks. * * *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Understand business requirements of new projects by working with traders and trading support teams. · Design and implement software components based on business requirements. Work closely with other internal IT teams to ensure maximum performance of network infrastructure and datafeed servers. For Exchange interfaces, communicate with market access providers to fully understand the protocols and datafeed processing details. · Test to ensure system stability, recoverability, and lowest latency access to market data. · Deliver implemented systems into production. Train first-level support staff in the operation of the systems. Develop technical and support documentation for the systems. · Participate in the technical production support rotation. As necessary, obtain the support of technical personnel from outside of the EMD team (such as network administrators, system administrators and Stock Exchange IT contacts). · Communicate progress and problems to management, estimating work schedules and anticipating and avoiding problems. · Stay current with advances in technology in his/her area of expertise and improve knowledge of business lines and market specifics. *QUALIFICATIONS:* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
