Lead Sybase and Oracle Database Programmer Location: SFO, CA Duration: 6 months +
- Lead Database Programmer that has experience and tools (Scripts) to bring to the table around Sybase Embedded SQL statements that are in C programs and converted over to Oracle SQL or PL/SQL statements. If they don't have any experience and tools to bring to the table, then we probably won't get the opportunity to support this piece. - The customer does not have documentation or a data access layer (DAL) model where the programmer goes to one spot and addresses the SQL or new database connectivity. Need someone who's a go getter to debug and track this information down. - Looking for someone that has a process to work with the customer to find the SQL statements, understand the SQL statements to debug and re-code where necessary to convert the statements from Sybase to Oracle. Not a lot of Procedural language programs, strictly Embedded Sybase SQL statements. - Must have good testing practices to ensure that the inputs/outputs are the same on the other side after the conversion process. - Must understand C, Java, Transact SQL (Sybase), Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming, development and testing in a conversion setting in Financial services is the goal. - Understanding of Services Oriented Architectures and programming services under those same languages mentioned prior (Not an Oracle SOA requirement, but someone with this knowledge will understand the concepts) - Must have been a part of a large scope such that the development and testing methods or processes performed were repeatable as a framework in multiple database conversions. - Tuxedo is the application services that run the embedded C/SQL programs, a nice to have, but not a requirement. - Financial Services experience a big plus (probably a requirement) such that they understand financial services algorithms to debug the code and be a part of a team of engineers responsible for this conversion process. A lead guy is preferred, but if we set expectations that we don't have a lead but one of their engineers with this background to sit on the team, that may work as well to get in the door.
