NO GC or EAD* Sr. IT Specialist – Programmer is responsible for Java/J2EE/J2SE application development supporting business objectives while providing expertise in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing. Analyzes, designs and builds component-based applications in a Web/internet delivery environment, including introduction of an application layer, modeling techniques, component and object-oriented design, complex algorithmic coding, and systematic approaches to application integration. Can also works on existing applications for enhancements, web sites, web applications, and infrastructure. Performs hands-on coding and assists in architecting web content solutions. Can serve as a liaison to internal customers, research groups and various business support areas. Expertise in server-side web presentation technologies.:: - Perform complex design and coding that is likely to involve compressed time frames, new products in different environments and complex business / technical requirements - Consult with customers and stakeholders to define needs and sizing; Design, develop and implement J2EE designs using WebSphere Process Server, Portal Server and Application Server - Develop and deliver all required technical solution documentation in accordance with the IRS Enterprise Lifecycle (ELC) methodology - Develop test plans and perform testing including unit and development level integration testing, as needed - Perform operations and maintenance activities on the existing system and support interfaces and 3rd party tools used in the environments, as directed by the Project Manager - Work with the Chief Architect, Development Team Leader and other functional representatives to solve issues - Monitor, make and implement recommendations to improve performance - Track defects as they occur; Perform defect resolution fixes based on the needs of Testing, Acceptance Testing and Production issues - Assist with the installation of software patches and new releases of WebSphere software - Assist with the configuration and maintenance of system environment modes & profiles *Technical Skills:* *Must Have Skills:* Eight (8) years of progressive experience in the field of IT, including six (6) years of specialized experience in numerous, highly specialized IT disciplines involving a wide range of hardware/software solutions such as: - Services Oriented Architecture (*Key Skill Requirement*) - GUI Design (*Key Skill Requirement*) - Advanced J2EE development using WebSphere Application Server Version 5, WebSphere Portal Server v6.1 and WebSphere Process Server v6.2.
