Please send resumes on [email protected] or you can reach me at 678-824-775 *POSITION: ADVANCED APPLICATION DEVELOPER* *DEPARTMENT: STATE SUPPORT STAFF * *REPORTS TO: STATE SITE LEAD * *LOCATION: TALLAHASSEE, FL* *EMPLOYMENT STATUS: FULL-TIME* *EXEMPTION STATUS: EXEMPT* JOB PURPOSE: The intermediate Advanced Application Developer will provide application maintenance and support services to the Application Maintenance Services (AMS) Team currently staffed with both State Agency staff and other consultants. This position will primarily work with Oracle PL/ SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, Classic ASP, VB6 and C++ technologies. Specific duties are outlined below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide maintenance, enhancement and support for a variety of the agency’s Oracle- based applications • Assisting in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications • Research and document requirements of program users • Writing, translating and coding software programs and applications according to specifications • Assisting in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines • Working with network administrators, systems analysts and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems • Providing mentoring and guidance to junior programmers ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ability to communicate clearly via written and spoken word to multiple stakeholders including peers, mid-level and senior leadership. • Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Experience / Skills: • 6+ years’ experience with Oracle PL/SQL • 4+ years’ experience in XML, HTML and CSS • 4+ years’ experience in Classic ASP • 4+ years’ experience in VB 6 • 4+ years’ experience in C++ • Experience using Subversion. • Knowledge of relational and object-oriented database designs • Knowledge of object-oriented design methodologies • Knowledge of Information Systems Development Methodology (ISDM) • Knowledge of database security, including role-based security • Knowledge and experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) • Ability to be creative, to use sound judgment, and to display foresight to identify potential problems and design/specifications and assigned application software systems • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. • Ability to work independently • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Preferred Experience / Skills • 2+ years’ experience in Java Frameworks such as Struts/Tiles, Struts 2, Servlets/JSP, JPA/Hibernate • Experience using Maven 2 • Familiarity with Agile development practices, specifically SCRUM and Kanban. • Familiarity with environmental regulatory business processes and practices • Knowledge and understanding of the Agency technical environment • Experience working with and for a large State Agency. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with advance education in fields related to position or equivalent experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the English language.
