Job Description:Position Summary:
The Senior Database Administrator focuses on the performance,
interoperability and configuration of the overall database environment to
ensure that the physical database infrastructure will support the needs of
the individual application databases and that management processes are in
place to ensure reliability and integrity of the database environment. This
includes maintaining database patch levels, managing and coordinating
release upgrades and ensuring capacity requirements for databases are being
met.
The Senior Database Administrator is also responsible for maintaining the
stability of the database environment and hence plays an integral role in
maintaining configuration standards and partnering with application
development team(s) throughout the project lifecycle of system development.
Applications focused DBA assignments will also assist the development and
business analyst teams in architectural and solutions design and will
partner with the development and support teams to design, implement and
maintain NMDP Application best practices in order to allow for resiliency,
performance, scalability and reliability of application solutions. This
includes developing databases based on data requirements and constructing
databases needed for solution development.
The Senior Database Administrator will provide mentorship and
program/process leadership to other DBA team members as appropriate.


Job Requirements:

   - *Minimum of 6 years as a Database Administrator (DBA) with preference
   towards Oracle, and Oracle EBS*
   - Detailed knowledge of multi-tier architecture in client/server
   environment
   - Managing production database environments including monitoring,
   optimizing system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and
   other methods and Providing backup and restore functions – Experience with
   Oracle RMAN and NetApp solutions
   - Writing build/maintenance scripts that allow databases and their
   corresponding objects to be created/modified in different environments
   - Experience with Linux and NetApp storage systems
   - Experience with Oracle RAC implementations
   - Experience with VMWare
   - Experience using Oracle Grid Control
   - Experience with Quest Tools Suite (TOAD), and/or Embarcadero DB Artisan
   - Experience in Data Modeling of OLTP and/or OLAP systems using ERD
   and/or UML modeling techniques, SQL, Transact SQL, PL/SQL development,
   debugging, and Shell scripting
   - Experience with designing and developing complicated ETL mappings
   - Creating primary database storage structures (table spaces)
   - Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes)
   - Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining database
   environments
   - Managing patch requests and code migration from one Oracle instance to
   another
   - Development of policy and procedures as they relate to database
   maintenance, security and archiving
   - Forward thinker with the ability to grasp the diversity of our systems
   and network, the ability to make recommendations and implement solutions
   - Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting application and database
   issues
