*NEED ONLY US CITIZENS OR GREEN CARD HOLDERS* *Software Engineer (BIOS/**UEFI**) at Houston, TX* Long term project *Job Description:* Software Engineers play lead roles in multi-discipline teams working on new products and solutions. You'll be part of a team involved in the design, development and maintenance of the system BIOS for Business Desktop products. Additionally, innovation is key as you will be involved in the design and development of major functional and performance enhancements for existing products and produce new products and tools. You will review requirements, specifications, and designs to assure product quality and will aid in the development of test and specifications to ensure quality and performance. *Your primary job responsibilities will be the following:* - Develop system BIOS/UEFI code for Client Business Desktop products - Work with various teams to scope and to define new innovative features - Work with hardware development teams to bring up new generation of the Desktop platforms and Technologies - Work with various R&D teams to debug and resolve BIOS/Hardware/Software interface issues - Maintain and support existing and new BIOS deliverables - Designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging desktop system BIOS - Apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives - Work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope - Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution - May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process *Qualifications* *Education and Experience Required:* Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 plus year's related experience or Master's degree and a minimum of 4-6 years experience. *Experience and Knowledge:* - PC BIOS/UEFI Firmware development experience (2+ years) - Programming of Embedded Systems in C/C++ required (2+ years) - Assembler Experience (x86 Preferred) required (2+ years) - Framework/EFI experience (2+ years) - Must possess expert knowledge and understanding of x86 architecture (Intel and AMD) - Working with cross-functional teams as well as experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle - Must possess expert knowledge of multiple operating systems and experience in multiple programming languages and technologies such as Assembly and C/C++ *Required Skills:* - Software development and de-bugging skills - Analytic ability in order to research technical issues and generate creative and innovative solutions - Experience with MASM, C/C++ - Use of Software Debuggers - Experience with ICE, Logic Analyzer desired - BIOS/Firmware experience - PC Architecture (Intel, AMD) - Must be committed to delivering high quality products - Possess effective written and verbal communication skills *Best Regards,Object Technology Solutions, Inc.
