*Job Title : WebLogic Administrator Location : Minneapolis,MN Duration : 6 Months* Skills: Weblogic Adminstration, Performance, WLDF, Security ROLE OVERVIEW Client needs two WebLogic Admins for 3-6 months (initial contract duration is 3 months) of mid to senior level caliber. Will be added to their Web Infrastructure Services (WIS) team. Ideally candidates will be open to contract to hire but contract only candidates (no hire) will be considered. ACCOUNTABILITITES FOR ROLE: 1. Installs enhances, and corrects middleware system software, system utilities, and operating system. 2. Informs Systems Support, Application Development and Operations staff of middleware software compatibility and features. 3. Provides the Systems and Development staff with technical expertise, tools, utilities and programs assisting in the efficient development and operation of application systems 4. Analyzes, plans and implements complex technical software as necessary 5. Monitors system performance and partners Is responsible for system performance monitoring and with appropriate personnel to carry out corrective action when necessary, including recommendations for changes to hardware, software systems and application architecture changes 6. Maintains middleware software, communications software, making configuration changes and enhancements as necessary 7. Evaluates the technical performance of newly acquired/generated products or systems with appropriate testing and analysis to minimize risk to production systems 8. Provides detailed technical evaluations and recommendation regarding new and innovative techniques. REQUIRED SKILLS: Expertise in installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining and optimizing Oracle WebLogic platform and tools with emphasis on Oracle WebLogic Server. Thorough understanding of WebLogic performance tuning, including but not limited to tuning Heap Size, Execute Threads, CPU Utilization, Connection Pool, JMS Configuration, Cluster Configuration, and Load Balancing. Excellent troubleshooting skills and knowledge of WLDF (WebLogic Diagnostic Framework) and other performance and capacity tolls such as ClearApp, Mission Control and CAPP Expertise with providing Application Programming support and consultation regarding the middleware architecture. Understanding of WebLogic security architecture Understanding of WebLogic messaging Experiencing QA and load testing of WebLogic infrastructure and WebLogic based applications. Ability to integrate WebLogic with third party commercial products and legacy systems. Ability to work within defined change management, incident management and problem management procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all technical skill levels and hierarchical levels. Must be: Willing to work some scheduled events outside normal business hours (nights/weekends) for the same hourly rate. Willing to carry pager for some nights/weekends. No compensation for carrying pager unless called to work, then same hourly rate.
