*Pls, Send 9+ years resume only* UNIX System Administrator Kansas City MO 6+ months This position manages the selection, documentation and installation of security patches and upgrades pertaining to the UNIX/Linux operating systems, and ensures regulatory compliance (SOX, CIP) for OS implementations. POSITION COMPETENCIES • Understands and considers standard concepts, best practices and procedures related to system administration. • Understands compliance requirements around patching. • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems. • Working knowledge of SAN technologies and disaster recovery. • Working knowledge of business goals, corporate IT standards, strategy and service level agreements. • Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical. • Establishes cooperative relationships with other departments. • Effective project team member, at times assuming leadership role for the project. • Exercises sound judgment when making decisions. • Quickly adapts to multiple demands and rapidly changing priorities. • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and Red Hat Satellite patching services. • Working knowledge of Windows operating system and ??SCCM?SCOM?? patching services RESULTS EXPECTED • Primary role is to manage the selection, documentation and installation of security patches and upgrades on OS and related software. • Monitors and tests infrastructure systems in an effort to predict potential points of failure, implementing solutions when identified. • Develops and maintains infrastructure applications and system configuration documentation. • Provides technical support and guidance for systems-related issues. Uses knowledge and experience to resolve problems. Ensures timely resolution of problems. • Supports backup and recovery systems and processes as directed by organization and IT standards and policies. • Supports disaster recovery processes and testing. REQUIREMENTS • Typically has one of the following: ?
