*Title: Senior Data Engineer or Business IntelligenceLocation: San Francisco, CA.Duration: Full time* The Senior Data Engineer plays a key role in the team, shaping and implementing the group’s analyst-focused Business Intelligence assets. The role will be tasked with leveraging data from source systems – primarily relational & Omniture web data, augmented by an emerging BigData ecosystem - unifying them to provide an intuitively accessible cohesive view of the company’s OmniChannel business patterns. Examples of projects the Senior Data Engineer may be involved in or leading would be: •Coalescing information from Teradata and Oracle systems, building dimensional models to surface them to build multi-terabyte OLAP cubes. •Large scale data ingestion and transforms on Hadoop -- using general Hadoop primitives where necessary, and evolving to cascaded pipelines as patterns are recognized. •Implementing, testing, and proving out Big Data tools and patterns for Business Intelligence workloads – in-memory architectures, streaming workflows, event-sourced and Lambda data architectures. Requirements: •The candidate should be an expert of relational database technologies, particularly Teradata and Oracle. Experience with data architecture, metadata management, and semantic schemas. Understanding of traditional ETL tools and concepts, as well as current knowledge of emerging high-throughput data frameworks. •Expertise in OLAP architecture and tools. There is a sizable Microsoft SSAS ecosystem, so experience with that stack a bonus, but equivalent experience with other OLAP stacks and patterns considered. •The candidate should have experience with Big Data tools and constructs. Experience with high-performance low-latency architectures a plus. •The user should be highly skilled in data inspection, analysis, cross-referencing, and debugging.
