*Unix System Administrator position at Kansas City, MO* *6+ months contract* *Job Responsibilities:* · Hands on* Unix/Linux System Administration* supporting platforms including *Unix/Linux, Oracle Web Logic, VMWare and related systems* · Managing direct attached or network attached storage technologies, improving hard drive storage requirements and systems and maintaining UNIX-based server-client systems · Technical expertise in platform setup such as clustering, high availability configuration, failover and related areas · Experience with physical server installation and configuration in data center environment including *SAN management* · Perform environment patching , code deployment, user management and Security Configuration · Participate in the development of the System Requirement Document and Detailed Design Specifications including performance management · Assist with necessary system design decisions · Participate in and support project testing activities including defect resolution and performance tuning · Collaborate and coordinate with System Engineers, DBAs, Middleware Admins, Networking, Information Security and Application Development team members on various project activities *Professional Skill Requirements: * · Proven ability to transfer knowledge, capabilities and skills to the permanent client team during the course of the engagement · Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment · Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment · Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills · Strong at PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint · Experience with HP hardware, Oracle software/databases · Ability to travel to various client locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area to participate in project activities · Experience with VMWare on Linux, Site Recovery Manager, HP 3PAR storage, Oracle RAC and other related technologies · Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network functionality Best Regards, Object Technology Solutions, Inc.
