This includes leading efforts of continuous improvement in the areas of: operational support, platform health and stability, capacity planning and working with application development teams to improve the service offerings for Java platforms. *Client is migrating their 10 year old app (Java 1.4/Weblogic 8) to JBOSS.* *Skills: Java, JMS, JBOSS, Weblogic administration, Migration/integration.* *Responsibilities and Duties: * · Implementation of Java platforms. · Ensure design meets application development team requirements. · Ensure platform complies with team standards and IT policies and procedures. · Deploy applications to production and non-production environments. · Troubleshoot application server issues related to the platform. · Create support tickets and work with vendors as needed. · Manage the daily operation of Java Application Servers. · Monitor resource utilization, including such items as CPU, memory, and disk utilization. · Report on system utilization and plan/implement recommended maintenance as required. · Perform impact analysis for appropriate tasks. · Work with other teams in the design and configuration of secure access to JBoss resources · Apply and promote patches. · Develop, test, and implement automation scripts (Perl and Python). · Support day-to-day data integration through WebServices, JBoss JMS operations with our partners and clients, including identifying any technical problems with inbound/outbound transmissions. · Troubleshoot and research problems through log file mining and analysis. · Work with Developers and Database Administrators in the implementation of new applications. · Identify impact to capacity. · Maintain documentation related to infrastructure and architecture of web systems.
