Position: Sr. COBOL Developer Location: NE Duration: 18 months *Local or nearby * *Face to face must after telephone interview. * *Required Skills* * Associate Degree in IT related field of study or equivalent. * Must have the ability to perform development and enhancements for a large complex computer system. Ability to maintain existing code and develop new code, with a strong attention to detail accuracy. * Must have seven– (7) or more years development experience with COBOL II/COBOL 390 accessing DB2 databases in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment, using checkpoint/restart techniques for batch applications. Software development experience must be current (within the last year) and must be in support of a large-scale, complex application system. * Must have seven– (7) or more years experience with relational databases, including logical design, understanding of physical design components, and complex SQL accessing a large, complex application database. * Must have seven– (7) or more years working experience in SQL programming with DB2. * Must have seven– (7) or more years of mainframe and complex CICS applications development experience. * Must have ability to support full life cycle testing for a large complex computer system. * Experience working as part of a large (40+) software development team using structured procedures and guidelines. * Must have working knowledge of the following development / testing utilities: TSO, Abend-AID, File-AID, QMF, Xpediter, Librarian, IDCAMS, DB2 Load & Unload, Syncsort. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to gather and provide information effectively, regardless of audience. * Must be able to work well within a team environment and have exceptional collaborative skills. Must be service oriented with strong interpersonal skills with all levels of business and technical staff. * Demonstrated analytical skills that include working directly with business staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. * Must be able to perform analysis and create supporting techn *Preferred Skills* * Bachelor’s degree in IT related field of study. * At least 2 years of experience as an application developer working with the National Provider Identifier (NPI). * At least 2 years experience as an applications developer working as part of a team for a Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or on a medical insurance claim processing system. * At least 1 year managing small to medium projects or components of larger projects. * Working knowledge of the following tools: Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Access, Clarity and Project Workbench. * Experience with developing database application using Microsoft Access. * Experience with Platinum/CA database tools, Move for DB2 and UDB.
