*Job Title : Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle Reports coder Location : Grand Rapids, MI Duration : 6+ months Rate : flexible* 6 – 8 years of PL/SQL Development and Reports Development (10g) Healthcare experience Analytical background / Ability to gather requirements, collaborate with other technical groups to push projects along. PL/SQL: Required Reports Development (10g): Required SQL Required: Oracle preferred Managed HealthCare Nice to Haves: Work with Oracle Development and oracle DBA work (as it relates to the support of development) (ability to collaborate with different teams) DBA work would include materialized views, queries, performance tuning, Tkprof & Trace, database table knowledge, etc.. Data modeling (PH doesn't have DBA's that take care of this, so the developers do all the data modeling) Perl .Net Data Modeling experience Job Details: PL/SQL Programmer/Analyst Follows and helps establish Application Development, Software Quality Interface, IT policies, procedures, and processes. Writes test cases, unit tests. Performs exploratory testing. Understands and implements RDBMS data modeling concepts and has expertise in a client/server environment (TOAD, SQL*Plus, etc.). Write structures, maintains and optimizes code. Uses libraries developed when applicable, recommends and/or creates new shared libraries and/or contributes to it when necessary. Is comfortable working in Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments. Implements source control concepts and adheres to source control standards. May be required to learn and share new languages or other technologies. Helps establish a technical solutions strategy that is integrated with the overall corporation and makes sure all solutions fit into it. Additional Skills: A minimum of eight years of software development experience that is relevant to the application development team. Must possess an understanding of software engineering principles, and be able to articulate compelling arguments for and against standards, roles, and processes. Expected to have an area of expertise within software engineering for which he/she contributes to App. Dev. team. Ability to make quality, independent decisions. Analytical thinker. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple requests. Ability to speak English well enough to be understood by clients, co-workers and the public. Must be comfortable interacting and representing the team to end customers. Customer Service Understands how the managed care business works and how App. Dev. applications can be used to address the needs of the business. Teamwork Collaborates with customers and other teams on the development, rollout and support of App. Dev. Applications. Performs and/or participates code reviews, design reviews, concrete experiments.
