*Position     :  **Linux Admin with Splunk Exp.  *

*Location    :  Denver, CO*

*Duration   :  6+ Months *

*Job Description:*

·         Responsible for providing post-sales technical product support.

·         This includes, but is not limited to, analyzing customers’
business needs and developing technical requirements, preparing technical
responses to Requests for Quotes (RFQs), configuring integrated solutions
to meet customer needs and implementing client solutions.

·         May act as a primary point of contact between customer’s
technical staff and the enterprise’s development/engineering organization.

·         Serves as technical consultant to the sales team and must have a
broad knowledge of multiple computer environments, platforms and
technologies and in-depth knowledge of the enterprise’s products.

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

·         Typically has 3 - 6 years of high-tech industry and/or IT work
experience in product engineering, development and/or support functions.



*Scoop from manager:*

·         These resources will be maintaining and operating apps developed
by the Denver team which is a 24x7 team

·         High stress env. with lots of moving parts

·         Needs someone who can come in and find their own way.. not a lot
of direction



*Job Skills *

·         Linux Background

·         System Admin experience

o   Command line

o   Network troubleshooting

o   *Splunk – looking at splunk logs *

o   They also use Op 5 for monitoring

o   This is not the “eyes on glass” team, but rather the team that they
escalate to… consider this tier 4 or 5 support

o   Example of escalated tickets

o   Liner stream video transcoders and the packaging of that. For example
say a certain market has steams down like NBC.


This person will go in and bring the streams back up. They also deal with:

o   Nodes fails

o   No disk space

o   Memory utilization

o   Network reloading problems

o   The PODS they use are UCS Chassis, the development team works on the
chassis which are in NETApp

o   On call rotation so maybe they will be on call 3x per year

o   Very collaborative environment
