Role: Data Modeler Location: Des Moines, IA Duration: 4-12 Months The project is multi-faceted in that it will involve working with several distinct business units, is cross-functional, and requires technical interfacing between different systems modules (frontend, backend, data warehouse, etc.). The ideal candidate will have 10 years information technology experience with emphasis in database administration and application development. Responsibilities Quickly learn and understand the project’s database, tables, structures and fields from a big picture perspective (across business functions and project iterations) to provide architectural and decision support direction Provide a consultative approach with business users, asking questions to understand the business need and deriving the data flow, logical, and physical data models based on those needs Analyze data requirements and data stored in a disparate set of systems and designing a robust relational structure for the future Be accountable for integrity and quality of data, ensuring the information meets customer needs Plan for collection method, data cleansing, and normalization of data across multiple applications Perform necessary testing related to the project and its iterations Develops policies and procedures related to development and support of new and ongoing systems to ensure the integrity of data Some overtime may be necessary in order to meet aggressive deadlines Required / Desired Skills Strong database design experience and proficiency with data modeling tools, preferably with Enterprise Architect v10 or above Proficient translation of business requirements and functional specifications into technical data requirements.
