Position:ORACLE DBA w SAP experience Duration:3 MONTH CONTRACT
Location:NEW YORK, NY Responsibilities: 7-10+ years Oracle DBA experience (10g/11g) 5+ years’ experience working with Oracle Database supporting SAP Applications. The DBA must participate and perform Oracle Database Migration for SAP Apps from Solaris to Linus Create, maintain, and support Oracle architectural environment Perform database database/schema copies using Oracle Utilities such as expdmp/impdmp Extensive experience working with RMAN for backup, recovery and duplicate databases. Must independently work to set up and configure physical standby databases. Monitor standby database performance and create copies out of standby database. Participate the SQL code review and advise development teams of best practices in coding Advanced knowledge of performance tuning methodologies including SQL Profiles, Baselines etc.. Proactively monitor the database to identify potential problems and take necessary steps to avert them Handle daily production issues, projects and international rollout of SAP Experience with Oracle advanced technologies such Exadata, RAC, ASO, ASM, ACO etc. Excellent communication skills are a must Work comfortably with minimal supervision 24x7 production on-call support during off-hours and weekend will be required. Experience with administering SQL server databases. Interpersonal Skills Establish and maintain good working relationships with the peers, management & leaders of the business area supported as well as within IT structure. Ensure the smooth integration and / or roll-out of systems into the operational environment by communicating and coordinating closely with the affected functional and technical areas Customer and results focused. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Leadership & Communication Skills Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills. Ability to communicate with technical, non-technical, and senior management audiences. Assume accountability for ALL projects that you and / or your team are responsible and involved in. Fully support the PMO process and other standards as adopted by the IT Department. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree mandatory (prefer Computer Science or related discipline). Minimum 5 years with Oracle PL/SQL in 10g/11g environment. Minimum 5 years of work experience in SQL*Plus, UNIX (Solaris and Linux) and shell scripts. Oracle Certification is preferred.
