Description: risk/issue management---important PMO governance important The Project Manager will assist with project oversight, coordination and task management for the PMO for a large implementation program that is tasked with governance/oversight of multiple ongoing large scale projects. The PMO ensures that projects are managed with high quality to on-time, on-budget and in-scope completion. The project manager will help construct / implement project management methodology and ensure it is adhered to. The project manager will also assist/influence program level planning, status reporting, as well as risk/issue management. Generally, the project manager in this role will not be project managing his/her own projects, rather the person will be tasked to contribute toward PMO governance of other project managers’ projects Experience/Skills Required: Minimum 5 years IT Project Management experience implementing large packaged software applications Minimum 3 years experience operating as part of a centralized PMO/governance team within a medium/large sized IT organization Strong understanding of implementation project methodology, including best practices on how to deliver projects on-time, on-budget and in-scope. Demonstrated ability to apply understanding of that methodology to PMO governance/oversight activities. Experience in constructing/implementing PMO standards. At least intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint. Very strong communication (written & verbal), analytical, and problem identification/solving skills Strong experience around PMO risk/issue management and status reporting – both from a content perspective (detecting & solving problems) and from a presentation perspective (preparing presentations for management).
