*Job: Enterprise Business Architect* *Location: McLean VA* *Duration: Long term* *Only GC, Citizen * *Job Description:* • The primary function of the Enterprise Business Architect is to provide business, data, application and technology consulting and leadership for Card, Commercial and/or Retail Bank IT portfolio. • We are looking for an architect with broad understanding of Financial Services and deep knowledge in systems and processes managed by IT organizations. The architect will need to understand the technologies and systems supporting areas such as: *For Card Architect Positions: * • Card products, systems, and processes • Card Processing Systems • Card servicing and operations • Credit Risk Analysis and Valuations • Collections • Recoveries • Fraud Identification • Customer Management • Customer Acquisitions System Maps *For Bank Architect Positions: * • Consumer and Commercial products, systems, and processes • Core Banking/Mainframe Systems • Online Banking • Direct Banking • Brokerage • Deposit Operations • Lockbox and Items Processing • Branch technologies • Payments • ATM/Debit • Commercial Lending (e.g. real estate, corporate, industrial, equipment leasing, asset based lending, syndications, portfolio management) • Retail Lending (e.g. auto, mortgage, installment loans) • Treasury Management (e.g. Liquidity, receivables, payables, merchant services) • Trust and Asset Management • Collateral and Exposures Management • Sales & Relationship Management • Servicing and operations • Credit Risk analysis and valuations • Imaging, statements *Responsibilities include: * • defining strategy level architectures (business domain target and capability architectures), providing business, data, application and technology consulting in pre-feasibility and feasibility discussions with IT team members and business partners, providing technical leadership and guidance to the IT teams for project level architectures and design work, ensuring Capital One's Architecture-related processes and standards, such as the Building Permit process, are followed and adhered to, leading the technical review component of vendor software package evaluation projects, acting as a liaison with other architects (security, infrastructure, data, etc.). • The Enterprise Business Architect will review and approve project level architectures and designs for IT projects. • The candidate is responsible for ensuring project and team alignment with enterprise technology standards. • The Architect is also a valuable business consultant; he/she conducts analysis of business processes and technologies to determine and validate the stated and unstated needs of the business unit and enterprise. • The Card / Bank Enterprise Architect is expected to steer technology decisions to provide long-term business value, flexibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. *BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years experience in enterprise architecture • Solid understanding of the enterprise architecture industry and trends • Strong verbal and written communications • Strong analytical and decision making skills • Ability to manage high complexity and high ambiguity initiatives effectively • Strong influencing and internal consulting skills • Ability to define, structure, and plan work • Be able to frame an Architecture vision, socialize it and get buy-in from senior IT and Business leaders. • Strong Service Oriented Architecture experience that includes: • Proven experience decomposing a business into its constituent business capabilities that includes defining the scope of the capability, assessing the capability, and capturing critical non functional requirements, PCI and other Non Public Information protection requirements • Experience defining a target architecture for each business capability • For critical business capabilities, the ability to define and model a set of conceptual composite and atomic services that will serve as a target architecture for the construction of the capability • Experience identifying shared service candidates, qualifying them and building buy-in to elevate them to shared service standards *OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * • Masters Degree or Doctorate in Computer Science or similar field • Architect certification or knowledgeable in architecture frameworks like TOGAF. • Experience with business process management tools, workflow solutions, collaboration solutions • Knowledgeable about the implementation technologies for Services that includes IBM WebSphere application server & IBM Service bus technologies, IBM Datapower, Oracle Weblogic and Oracle Service bus technologies, Oracle BPMS products and various Registry and Repository tools • Experience with datamarts, operational data stores, data warehouses, and related technologies (eg. Teradata, Oracle, DB2, SQL) • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (eg.
