Our Client is seeking a *PostgreSQl and Sybase DBA experience * Location: Lakewood CO Duration: 12 months ++ Rate: open Overview: Monitor and maintain PostgreSQL and Sybase databases, tasks as follows: Monitor and maintain PostgreSQL Databases tasks - 1: Develops, maintains, enhances databases and information systems by defining physical structures and organizations of databases and data sets - 2: Reorganizes databases at appropriate intervals, monitoring performance, implementing backup, recovery and restart procedures, utilizing the latest releases of database software in order to optimize performance, minimize storage requirements and support applications or systems areas and supervises Develop, maintain, and enhance databases and information systems by defining physical structures and organization of databases and data sets - 2: Reorganize databases at appropriate intervals, monitoring performance, implementing backup, recovery and restart procedures, utilizing the latest releases of database softer in order to optimize performance, minimize storage requirements and support applications or systems areas and supervises Manage and support Sybase databases tasks - 1: manage conversions of older systems by analyzing database programs, systems and design manuals in order to permit conversion from one hardware and software - 2: provide technical assistance to user areas application development efforts by responding to questions and inquiries concerning best practices in database or information systems - 3: prepare executive summary status reports by reviewing progress reports of scheduled tasks - 1: Review specifications for the development, maintenance, and enhancements of database systems and new information systems by analyzing user requirements and recommending appropriate system configurations. - 2: Assist in the selection of database access methods and utilizing state of the art knowledge in computer systems technology, in order to develop and enhance new or existing database and information systems - 3: create database systems *Required Skills* - 8 years of experience with PostgreSQL, tuning, backup and recovery and database maintenance - Desired Skills: - 8 years of experience with Sybase Database, related utilities and tools - 8 years of experience with underlying operating systems - 8 years of experience with physical and logical database design - 8 years of experience with Sybase and operating system performance tuning and monitoring - 8 years of experience with all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios - 8 years of experience with Sybase data integrity, data encryption and security management *Desired Skills:* - 8 years of experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of development life cycle - 8 years of experience with ability to interact with a wide variety of personnel within the agency.
