*Job Description and Responsibilities*

The Sitecore Developer:

○      Contributes to the successful completion of major projects by
investigating, analyzing and resolving complex application problems

○      Codes, compiles and tests complex websites and applications

○      Develops and/or maintains sustainable frameworks

○      Employs standards, security methods and industry tools in building
enterprise web applications

○      Maintains high-quality documentation of complex technical
implementations

○      Works with project management and leadership to provide time
estimates and schedules for projects and communicates regularly with
department management and functional users on project requirements,
activities and status

○      Takes a role in establishing and implementing standards that will
facilitate a high-quality IT infrastructure across Client and all clients

*Knowledge and Abilities*

The Sitecore Developer:

○      Possesses superior analytical, problem-solving abilities

○      Has excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and
communication skills

○      Can anticipate and independently provide solutions for complex
problems and issues, recommending upgrades, enhancements, priorities and
strategic technology directions based on independent research, consultation
and analysis

○      Rapidly absorbs complex technical and conceptual information,
identifying key issues and details and presenting understandable
alternatives to both technical and nontechnical individuals at all levels
of the organization

○      Can work on multiple complex tasks against deadlines and shifting
priorities and is comfortable dealing with uncertainty, ambiguity and change

○      Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information
Systems or a related field or equivalent work experience

*Experience*

*Qualified candidates* have *three to five years *of expert-level
object-oriented development experience and all of the following items:

○      Exhaustive knowledge of the .NET 4.0 Framework and conversational
familiarity with design patterns

○      Sitecore certified, preferably in version 7, but in at least version
6.4+

○      Comfort working with Visual Studio, IIS, source control, build
tools, continuous integration servers and test harnesses typically found in
a .NET development environment

○      Ability to create a new website and maintain an existing Sitecore
site using ASP.NET web frameworks (Web Forms and ASP.NET MVC)

○      Understanding of different approaches to generating, templating and
caching web assets married with a source-level understanding of HTML, CSS
and JavaScript

○      Familiarity with a variety of data access technologies (SQL, ADO.NET,
LINQ, Entity Framework, ODBC, LDAP, NHibernate, etc.)

○      Experience integrating systems using examples from the alphabet soup
of enterprise applications (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, SOA, WSDL, etc.)

*Preferred candidates* have extensive experience working with web
technology, preferably on public-facing sites, including many of the
following items:

○      Ability to measure and optimize web performance, both from the
client and server side, supported by a development approach featuring
testing early and often (for example, unit and integration testing)

○      Experience integrating with social web services such as Facebook or
Twitter

○      Understanding of SEO best practices and experience integrating
tagging for analytics tools (Webtrends, Omniture or Google Analytics, etc.)

*Other experience* that distinguishes candidates includes:

○      Illustrated participation in open-source projects and/or the
developer community

○      Demonstrable understanding of emerging/nontraditional languages,
libraries and/or software development techniques
