This support will include designing, documenting, deploying and supporting LAN and WAN network equipment, with a focus on access, distribution, core and data center LAN services. This staff must be a senior network engineer with operational experience deploying and supporting data networking in a large and complex environment. Experience with Cisco access and distribution LAN switching products supporting data and VOIP, as well as data center class products such as Nexus are required. This staff will be part of a team of network engineers supporting a mixed environment of Ayaya (formerly Nortel Enterprise) LAN equipment, Riverbed, and Meraki products. The primary purpose of this position is to provide senior level Cisco LAN expertise for access, distribution and data center deployments to augment the existing team's expertise in other product sets and design future state solutions. This staff will also assist with the replacement of several hundred field LAN switches at NCDOT locations. Hands on senior experience implementing and supporting current Cisco LAN switching products for access, distribution, core and data center solutions. Required2Years Extensive knowledge of current Cisco LAN switching product set. Required2Years Experience designing, implementing and supporting Cisco Nexus products in a data center environment. Required Experience designing, implementing and supporting "Flexpod" solutions using Cisco Nexus. Desired Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and have the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management Required Senior level knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP subnetting, and networking technologies. Required Ability to professionally document proposals and as-built network solutions.
