Business Architect/Product Manager

*Additional Job Details*:

The Business Architect/Product Manager will support the online client
experience strategy and interactive execution by driving key initiatives
and partnering with contributors across business units. This role will
focus on strategy, concepting, project delivery and implementation of the
online capabilities and roadmaps within the overall online client
experience while providing support across the client team. This position
reports to Product Director.

 *Required Qualifications*

·    5-7 years of experience in consulting, financial services marketing,
interactive marketing or related field.

·    Strong communication and presentation skills.

·    Proven success independently leading interactive initiatives.

·    Manages multiple priorities and thrives in a rapidly changing
environment.

·    Must possess a solid understanding of online technologies and best
practices, ideally with 3 or more years experience managing web
applications and familiarity with user interface/user experience principles.

·    Ability to effectively build and leverage relationships in a matrix
organization.

 *Preferred Qualifications*

·    Financial services, agency background, or B2C marketing experience.

·    Previous experience managing large interactive/digital/online projects.

·    Experience working within Agile process methodologies.

 *Description/Comment:*

The Business Architect is responsible for translating the business and
functional strategy and plans in to the domain-specific capabilities and
business solutions necessary to deliver the strategy. By challenging the
status quo, identifying improvement opportunities, building functional
models, operational business architectures and various enterprise
architecture models that link business and technology concepts they will
improve the effectiveness, efficiency of the business and the customer
centricity of the technology organization.

- Develop a business architecture strategy for multiple domains, applying a
structured approach and methodology for capturing key views of the
business. Work as an effective liaison between the business and technology
to effectively influence and negotiate decisions as they relate to the
domain strategies. Define and maintain strategy to ensure technology
solutions support business needs and strategies within cost, schedule and
scope. Create and own a multi-year roadmap for capabilities within the
domains.

- Provide strategic leadership in defining and designing the end-to-end
technology solution models for the business. Drive consistency and
optimization of business processes and technology solutions across
capabilities within the domain. Assist business and technical designers in
understanding design choices. Provide recommendations to preserve integrity
across the various strands of change and ensure the delivery of holistic,
integrated solutions.

- Work with the business to understand and define business processes that
meet goals and objectives and maximize the value proposition of the
technology solution. Analyze the existing domains to determine whether
opportunities exist to create competitive advantages, cost efficiencies
and/or revenue growth. Perform current state assessment to identify people,
process, technology and information gaps to develop transformation roadmap
and help create the supporting cost-benefit analysis (CBA).

- Drive the development and adoption of a consistent business architecture
practice that includes consistent modeling tools and processes; industry
leading best practices; templates and standard deliverables. Act as the
custodian of the business architecture standards, methods, conceptual and
logical designs. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with
senior business, operations and technology management teams in the capacity
of a trusted advisor on business architecture matters.

- Manage the domain requirements and design processes, ensuring alignment
with Ameriprise business and technology strategies and enterprise business
architecture strategy. In partnership with Capability Domain Owners (CDO),
provide strategic product management leadership through brainstorming
product concepts and requirements definition that align with the business'
need for emerging technology solutions. Provide solution design expertise
and support for technology projects. Develop and apply expert knowledge of
related business capabilities, customer and market requirements as well as
enterprise and business architecture discipline. Build and maintain a
strong business unit relationship, with deep expertise and insight in to
the business, the business strategy and the industry. Continuously monitor
the market to gain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies."

- Senior and Executive Levels: Build and develop an effective organization
with appropriate skills, organization structure, and direction to satisfy
current and future business needs. This includes assisting with:
recruitment, performance feedback, coaching/mentoring, career planning and
budget management. Lead and oversee a team of business architecture
professionals that are accountable for delivering business architecture
services at Ameriprise. Facilitate the professional growth and development
of the business architecture team.
