*Sr. Network Engineer (CCIE)*



*Client:                  *Expedia

*Location:             *Resource must be “Onsite” for the duration of the
engagement

*Position Overview:*
Under the direction of the Network Service Operations Director, the Sr.
Network Engineer requires experience in Switching and Routing and how it
relates to servers, storage, and virtualization. The Sr. Network Engineer
will primarily be involved with Network Operation related Incidents and
Troubleshooting

*Required Skills:*  *(5-7 years experience Required)*

·         CCIE (written & labs)

·         Enterprise LAN/WAN networking

·         Enterprise Routing & Switching (L2/L3 switching is required)

·         Strong Firewall - Cisco ASA/FWSM

·         Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms (implementing &
troubleshooting)

·         TCP & UDP (ability to interpret packet captures)

·         Network Protocols (DNS, RPC, HTTP, etc.)

·         OSPF, and BGP, as well as real world implementation and
troubleshooting experience

·         BGP (confederations, communities,) as well as real world
implementation and troubleshooting experience

·         QoS as well as real world implementation and troubleshooting
experience

·         Network Monitoring Tools (Solarwinds, HPNA, Extrahop, Wireshark
etc…)

·         VPN’s & other remote access applications (DMVPN, IPSEC Tunnels,
GRE Etc…)

·         Load Balancing

·         SNMP



*Preferred Skills:*

·         Checkpoint Firewalls

·         Network Security



*Responsibilities:*

·         Knowledge of network management systems and network operating
systems

·         Sr. Troubleshooting experience network/incidents problems as they
relate to routing and switching, Firewalls and Load Balancing

·         Correlate detected network events to identify potential problems
or root causes

·         Assist application and system owners in troubleshooting
problematic network dependent applications

·         Participate in project handoffs for Network Operational support

·         Participate in a formal incident rapid response process for high
priority incidents

·         Collaborate with the team to insure that an incident's underlying
problems are managed and resolved

·         Implement network change in the context of incident resolution,
problem management and service requests

·         Be aware of and follow existing network management change
procedures

·         Commitment to developing presentation, communication,
organization and time management skills necessary to provide excellent
customer service in a professional manner

·         Very strong focus on the customer's needs and a willingness to
accommodate them
