Job Title: SAP Business Objects specialist Location: New York City Duration: 12 Months The Technical Specialist is a senior level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in a specific technology such as SharePoint development or an SAP specialist. The Technical Specialist has an overall knowledge and understanding of application development and architecture that serves as a strong base for technical expertise in a specific product or program. Role Description: Proven experience with a technical specialty across large and complex implementations and systems. Advanced experience in the required technical subject matter. Delivers support and design for industry specific applications that require integration with statewide systems or applications. Interacts with executive level business users or technical experts. May function as a niche technical SME. Demonstrates expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty. Identifies improvements to project standards to achieve high quality services/ products. Able to identify best practices and standards for the use of the product. Senior SAP Business Objects Consultant responsible for development and support of an existing SAP Business Objects environment. Experience with SAP BW, SAP BEx Query Designer, Open Hub Destination, SAP Data Services Designer, SQL. Oracle database experience is preferred. Description of Duties: Provides support for enhancements to existing SAP Business Objects reports or conversion of legacy applications (Xcelsius, Dashboards, etc) to tools that SAP will continue to support Create reporting applications in Web Intelligence, Design Studio, Crystal Reports, SAP Data Services Designer and Information Design Tool Update/Create SAP BW queries and workbooks using the Query Designer and BEx Analyzer tools Identify, troubleshoot & resolve issues in development/configuration/reporting Provide accurate and detailed work effort and time estimates Develop and document test strategies & results Required Experience: Experience with SAP Business Objects 4x Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience working with multiple installations of BW Preferred Experience: Experience with Netweaver Portal integration and BW Role base security SQL skills, as needed for functions, stored procedures, triggers, etc. Experience working with Oracle DB Team Participation: Ability to communicate, cooperate & coordinate effectively with team members Ability to accept direction and recommendations to ensure effective integration and coordination with existing applications Required / Desired Skills 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study Written communication skills to adequately document work Oral communication skills to train staff and inform management of all implemented assignments Communicate accurate and useful status updates weekly Technical ability to configure a software tool to produce desired output Experience developing and reviewing management reports Experience gathering business requirements and translating to technical specifications Experience developing metrics and dashboard reporting Experience with SAP Business Objects 4x Experience working with multiple installations of BW Experience with Netweaver Portal integration and BW Role base security SQL skills, as needed for functions, stored procedures, triggers, etc. Experience working with Oracle DB.
