Position : Sr. SQL BI Developer-Tableau Location : Cambridge, MA Duration : 6+ Months Contract Required Skills: *At least 3 years of Tableau experience* SQL experience Job Description: Sr. BI Developer – Tableau to create visualizations that provide insights for our Business customers, to work as part of a project team. The job includes complex visualizations of front-end dashboards. Primary responsibility will be to design and develop these visualizations and dashboards, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the solution infrastructure. The teams are small and follow Agile Scrum or Agile Kanban depending on the needs of the project and the best approach for the team. Primary Responsibilities: A seasoned Tableau expert with the uncanny ability to create visualizations that provides insights for our Business customers. Be able to understand the Business storyboard, learn about issues, mine the data available, and synthesize and translate Business data needs into creative visualizations. Be well versed in SQL. Development might include some requirements gathering, design, deployment, and on-going enhancements. Have experience working on small but critical projects as a front end Tableau developer. Knack for writing clean, readable, reusable Tableau visualizations/charts/graphs Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests for Tableau visualizations against the data sources Proficient understanding of code versioning tools in the Tableau Space Object-oriented and continuous integration based development Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Ability to self-motivate, set goals, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Be a good team player in communicating data needs to ETL developers. Qualifications: 4 years of experience using Tableau 6+ years of industry experience with BI Development – reports, metadata layer, dashboards, using SQL queries using BI tools. Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics preferred Experience with Agile or Scrum is preferred Agile team work: Candidate fully understands the value of Agile Scrum/Kanban and take an active role in following the discipline Agile forces on the development cycle. Commitment: Candidate committed to delivering results of the highest quality to demanding dates. Flexibility: The work will change and project phases will start, stop or continue. Candidate should be ready to change to project phases quickly and rapidly adopt. Communication: Candidate with clear, concise and strong written oral communication skills.
