*Need Mechanical Engineer in MI - 9+ Months contract!*

*Position : Mechanical Engineer*
*Location : Detroit,MI*
*Duration : 9+ Months*

*Job  Description:*
- Bridge gap between customer and developers to make sure everyone
understands the technologies employed.
- Co-ordination between the customer and the internal team
- Integral part of project decision making team including customer’s
executive management, project management, and engineering teams.
- Entrusted with directing large virtual teams to develop software for
infotainment systems.
- Responsible for enhancing the overall quality of our products and our
engineers.
- Ability to administer change management of large SW projects and still
meet stringent quality and timing requirements.
- Can accurately estimate the project scope of a large project and the
manpower crucial for the RFQ phase.
- Provides technical expertise for the request for quotation (RFQ) phase of
potential new projects
- Has working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers,
emulators, compilers, configuration management, etc).
- Has the ability to innovate (as necessary) towards using new processes to
improve efficiency or to react to changing project timing/requirements.
- Ability to work directly with the customer throughout various phases of
the project and instills confidence when representing the goals of the
organisation.
- Can translate Customer and internal requirements specifications into
effective software designs and architectures.
- Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in solving technical problems in
a way that maximizes client value.
- Communicates openly and organizes technical discussions as needed.
- Looks for win-win solutions when resolving conflicts or removing
obstacles.
- Embraces change and can adapt to suit the ever-changing embedded software
development world.
-Willingness to travel 10% of the time
- Has proactive, goal oriented approach to decision making.
- 5+ years of experience developing and debugging software in a real-time,
embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment.
- Experience leading teams using an agile development process and
coordinated the effort through the use of an Agile organizational tool.
- Experience leading at least 3 other teams through a full product
development lifecycle.
- Successfully lead at least 3 other teams that have deployed multi-million
dollar infotainment systems or equivalent.
- Has traveled multiple times to customer locations to support a project
- Is highly motivated and is able to motivate others.
- Considered a technical expert with regards to SW design and Architecture.
- Expert at teamwork, project planning, and project management
- Customer-focused and is aware of managing change so the project remains
successful.
- Skilled listener who can reason, negotiate, and come up with win-win
solutions for all parties involved.
- Knows how to leverage the diversity of skill sets that are found on every
team.
- Can match project requirements with the skill sets that individuals bring
to the project to make it successful.
- Willing to put in the necessary time to make projects successful.
- Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies
into actionable plans.
- Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and
executing to completion.

*Skills Required:*
5+ years experience developing and debugging software in a real-time,
embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment.
- Knowledge of software development processes including CMMI and agile
processes.
- Knowledge of software planning methods and the ability to use them
effectively
-Experienced in building the infrastructure and documentation to get a team
up to CMMI level 2 or 3 compliance.

 - Has a proven track record of successful team leadership.
- Led a team that has significant off-shore software content.

-Completed at least two projects from the RFQ/requirements phase into
production.
- Participated in various pre-sales events aimed at winning new business
