*Position : Hadoop Big Data Engineer Location : Burlington
MA.{Need Local To MA}Duration : 6+ Months*
*Description:The Data Engineer is an individual contributor who will be
part of the team building a technology platform. Specifically, this
individual will work on the development and support of the database
platform layer. This entails a) developing data extraction, data
transformation and data load routines on a Big Data environment and b)
interfacing and providing relevant and appropriate data to the Services
layer.*
*Minimum QualificationsMandatory hands-on experience for a minimum of 2
years required on Hadoop and associated Apache Open Source ecosystem (Hive,
Pig, MapReduce, HBase, Pig, Sqoop, Spark et al) Mandatory hands-on
experience in programming languages like Python and Java – experience in
Scala programming is a big plus. Deep proficiency in data management
principles – traditional RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL et al) and open source DBMS
(MySQL, PostgresSQL et al) Adept in data modeling techniques Working
knowledge of Services Layer – Java, Groovy/Grails, RESTful, JSON, Maven,
Subversion, JIRA, Eclipse et al. Experience with Object-Oriented
Programming Languages (Java, C++, Python) Experience and working knowledge
of NoSQL data stores is a big plus – columnar data stores like Vertica,
Cassandra, ParAccel (RedShift) and document stores like MongoDB, Couch et
al*
