This position functions as the Application Architect for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Customer Services support the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB). This application architect will be responsible to support the MGCB enterprise system. This architect is responsible for designing the application architecture, quality assurance processes for the enhancement and maintenance of this business critical systems. The various solution patterns utilize complex networking and database concepts in support of these systems. This architect is responsible to ensure the integrity of solutions, the security of the data, and the soundness and validation of the technical solutions architecture being proposed and ensure proper implementation. This position has responsibility to provide extensive technical knowledge and guidance to management as a technical resource on development and design of these solutions. The architect also researches new technology for new security systems, trouble shoots escalated production problems, and develops solutions for implementing these systems. In addition, this position has responsibility to lead and oversee projects and staff in a non-supervisory capacity. Years of Experience: 7 or more years of experience in the field. Adopt, develop, and execute a robust software development lifecycle, using industry best practices. Follows both the State and industry best practices for software engineering. Leads in the development of long term technology strategy and planning for the entire organization leveraging existing and acquiring new resources. Leads and actively participates on project teams, clarifying business needs and requirements, performing analysis, design, development, integration, and maintenance of systems across the enterprise. Willing and able to engage with other internal organizations to maximize delivery capabilities and provide value to clients. Participates and leads the development of delivery approach, and labor and cost estimates. Manage projects or tasks using the State and industry project delivery methodologies and best practices.
