Job Title: Windows Admin
Location: Clemson, SC
Duration: 3 months
Position: advanced windows admin
Scope of the project:
This will be a 3-month contract working at the clemson university
information technology center with the possibility of extension.
Daily duties / responsibilities:
Manages systems software. Provides technical support in developing,
maintaining, installing, and using operating systems and subsystems for
mission critical systems.
35% - subject matter expert to create, install, and maintain system
software on mission critical systems. Tune systems for optimal performance.
Track system capacity. Ensure system stability.
30% - collaborate and liaise with other units and serve as a technical
resource and subject matter expert.
15% - serve in on-call rotation. Follow industry standard best practices
and ccit policies and procedures.
10% - train and advise less skilled systems programmers and provide expert
technical assistance for others.
10% - contribute to research and development projects as required.
Required skills (rank in order of importance):
Extensive knowledge of windows server 2012, active directory, and related
microsoft technologies.
Excellent powershell scripting and automation. Performance monitoring and
tuning, large active directory administration.
Soft skills required: effective communication skills (written and oral),
adaptability, self-motivation, problem solving, analytical thinking, time
management, ability to work effectively in a fast paced, stressful
environment. Customer focused, detail oriented, team player
Preferred skills (rank in order of importance):
Three to five years of experience working in a mixed active directory and
linux environment within a vmware or other cloud based enterprise
environment
Sccm
Sharepoint administration
Dfs replication expertise
Host based firewalls
Required education: high school diploma and experience with windows server
os.
CERTIFICATIONS:
MCITP, MCSE, MCSA, OR SIMILAR MICROSOFT CERTIFICATIONS ARE PREFERRED AND
GOOD TO HAVE.
