Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking a UNIX/Linux Administrator.
This Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and
maintenance servers and infrastructure systems. The Administrator carries
out responsibilities in some or all of the following technical areas:
Server maintenance, System upgrades and procurement, infrastructure design
and layout, Disaster Recovery design and implementation, OS installation
and maintenance, and Server hardening.
Responsibilities
Administrator of various Redhat/Oracle Enterprise Linux servers in the
environment
Provision server build out within Hyper-V & OVM
Works with the Oracle DBA team on various needs including stand alone and
RAC.
Administer Solarwinds application and assist other administrators in using
Solarwinds Orion
Assist with PeopleSoft (Primavera) support when necessary
Assist with WebLogic installations and administration when necessary
Assist with Tomcat/Jboss installations and administration when necessary
Assist in planning, installation and administration of Disaster Recovery
for Linux servers
Ensure all Unix/Linux based servers are adhering to change control and are
audited
Understand and able to configure Postix, DNS/bind/named, ntpd, ssh, LVM,
multipathd, Samba/CIFS
Perform quarterly server patching
Maintaining documentation and diagrams for both daily operations and
Disaster Recovery
Assist Backup Administrator with Unix/Linux backups using Commvault.
Other duties as assigned
Other Qualifications
5 - 10 year’s administrative experience with Linux (Redhat X+, Other Linux
distribution)
5 - 10 year’s experiences in shell scripting (korn/bash)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Must be a team player with appropriate corporate conduct
RHC [SA,E,A] Linux, certifications are a plus
Oracle database support experience
A solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, sockets and experience w/ using
utilities such as nmap, tcpdump, snoop and wireshark.
Skill with scripting in KSH and python a plus
EMC VNX NAS, CIFS/NFS SAN, Samba, autofs, Kerberos, LDAP, SSL certs, Apache
HTTPD experience a plus
Cisco and / or other network gear configuration would be a good plus.
Assist with Redhat satellite server installations and administration.
Knowledge of Data Domain is a strong plus
Knowledge of StoreOnce is a strong plus
Knowledge of EMC VNX SAN array is a strong plus
Knowledge of HPE 3 PAR is a strong plus
Knowledge of SolarWind Storage Manager is a strong plus
