ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Implement and maintain all aspects of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)
administration.
· Deploy, schedule and monitor all ETL/SSIS packages
· EDW performance monitoring, ETL load optimization, and tuning
· Report query performance tuning and optimization.
· Develop and implement EDW maintenance plans.
· Manage database security and server administration
· Serve as liaison with the development team for code deployments
· Serve as liaison with the Business Intelligence team.
· Manage clustered database configurations and long distance replications
· Database system installation, configuration, and maintenance/health
monitoring
· Develop and implement EDW backup and restore strategy
· Create scripts, stored procedures and triggers
· Provide design recommendations for software/database architecture
· Partner with IT team members to ensure a reliable database environment
· Plan database security across multiple databases, servers, and
applications
· Participate in regular on-call rotations
· Serve as primary escalation point for Business Intelligence databases
and processes
TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED:
· BS in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
· 7+ years experience in administration of MS SQL Server (2005 and 2008)
· Experience in production administration of business critical database
systems
· Familiar with dimensional modeling techniques
· Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing, db performance tuning and
optimization for mission-critical production systems, including IO diagnostics
· Hands-on experience on clustered environments and long distance
replication
· Experience developing, tuning, and deploying with SSIS packages
· Knowledge of dimensional and relational database design principles
· Experience in SQL programming techniques and tuning/tracing
· Experience in writing scripts and procedures
· Experience in design, testing, and implementation backup and recovery
scenarios, including archiving and import/export
· Experience in managing production db schema, security, and storage
environments
· Experience in installation and upgrades of database systems
· Strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL stored procedures, functions
and triggers
· Solid experience with database replication and synchronization
· Knowledge of OLAP and Data Warehousing technologies
· Familiarity with best practices and standards as related to SQL Server

Windows Engineer

We are seeking a sharp, experienced Windows system engineer with exceptionally
strong design, and problem-solving skills. You must also have a solid
infrastructure architecture background. The Systems Engineer's primary tasks
are focused on the design and implementation of technical solutions that employ
the Windows operating system. This role demands strong planning, technical,
analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
Windows Engineering and Systems Administration.
- Proven system design experience.
- Extensive experience in the installation, upgrade, configuration, performance
tuning, capacity planning, backup/recovery and security of Windows operating
systems and hardware.
- Solid experience with infrastructure virtualization, including Hyper-V.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows system internals, and expert understanding of
data communication protocols focusing on TCP/IP.
- Working knowledge and experience supporting IIS6 & IIS7 environments.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft DNS systems
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, and 2010
- Experience with scripting languages (.NET, PHP, PERL, etc.) is a strong plus
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including an ability to
effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide the senior-most technical expertise to our team in Windows systems
design, implementation, operations and hands-on support.
- Help our team develop plans, specifications and implementations that result
in highly available servers, storage and network infrastructures.
- Work with the Hosting/Technical Support team as a final escalation point to
enhance and maintain a 24x7 systems operations capability.
- Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create
preventative measures and present to management.
- Provide technical leadership to appropriate personnel on system
administration and engineering activities.
- Work with the team to manage the processing of incoming support requests
ensuring effective and timely resolution of issues. Coordinate with other
departments to ensure problems are satisfactorily resolved.
