*Role: Sr. Mechanical Engineer* *Location: Southfield, MI* *Duration: Long Term* *Job Description* • 2-5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design Engineer role. • Prefer background in automotive electronics mechanical packaging and interconnection technology. • Manufacturing knowledge and experience a real advantage, especially casting, molding and assembly. • Experience with CAD tools, preferably CATIA or Solidworks. • Experience with FEA process and tools desired (ANSYS, ABAQUS). Duties • Mechanical design of ECU mechanical components (housings, covers, connectors and circuit boards). • Design activities will range from prototyping to production on new product development or modifications to existing designs. • Develop design concepts using CAD (Solidworks or CATIA) • Analyze design concepts to demonstrate feasibility with CAE tools (thermal and structural). • Prepare documentation to present design concepts and analysis to engineering team • Develop test methods, engineering reports, fixture/prototype designs and test execution support for product development. • Prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations as needed. • Work collaboratively with suppliers and other design and manufacturing engineers. • Provide technical direction to assigned CAD design personnel to: • Perform packaging studies and component layout analysis to meet the system environment. • Create drawing details to support tool releases per Company drawing standards. • Learn and apply basic engineering principles (GD&T, Tolerance Stacking, etc.) If you are qualified, available, interested, planning to make a change, or know of a friend who might have the required qualifications and interest, please call me ASAP at *408-457-9381 Ext. 4004*, even if we have spoken recently about a different position.
