*Job description*
Storage Technical Support Specialists in this job role must have expertise
in *IBM Storage system technology* areas including the *IBM Storage
Virtualization*(To XiV) as a primary key skill.
*Examples include: *disk, tape, optical, SAN, or storage software related to
these technologies. Typical examples of the deliverables are building
solutions with storage system technology and architecting storage solutions
to address client requirements. *Storage Technical Support Specialists* in
this job role work with products or solutions based on any vendor hardware
and/or any vendor operating system software. IT Specialists who apply their
technical skills to support the operation and maintenance of vendor
products, services, and solutions. Individuals who are part of Support
typically have responsibility for sizing, troubleshooting, and critical
customer situations.
*Required Skills:*
1. Storage Technical Support Specialists responsible for applying expert
analysis to provide support for problems and change tickets for storage
systems.
2. Candidate will be responsible for the Management of Storage and related
devices within a SAN. Candidate must have working knowledge of SAN
fundamentals, SAN Fiber Switches, and SAN Storage Devices.
3. Candidate will be expected to posses or gain knowledge of McData Fiber
Switches, McData EFCManager GUI, IBM DS8000, and IBM TotalStorage DS8000
Storage Manager. IBM ESS Shark, IBM ESS Specialist, IBM DS4800, IBM XIV, IBM
SVC, Device CLI, and a basic plus would be System Admin AIX, UNIX, and
Windows skills.
4. Candidate must also posses strong skills with customer facing, problem
determination skills, and is a team player. In addition to Level 1/2/3, SAN
Designer roles are required.
