*Rate:** Open * * * *Summary:* This is a technology applications development role, within the dynamic rail transportation operations area. Projects will vary across several different organizations, though primarily within the locomotive business area. The applications environment is multi-platform (mainframe, mid-tier and web centric), with extensive use of services and enterprise tools for messaging, routing, and business rules. The locomotive asset base is mobile, with wireless communication channels. Responsibilities include both new development and existing systems support. Primary technical skills desired are end-user and mid-tier based, with experience in new applications development and support of existing applications. *Principal Duties and Responsibilities:* • Research, analyze, and define business solutions. • Prepare detailed project specifications and design solutions for business problems. • Code, debug, test, and support utilities, tools, and programs as part of the application development process. • Document test cases, expected results, test data requirements, and collaborate with testing teams/business partners to resolve testing problems. • Provide impact analysis for changes to programs and systems. • Serve as technical resource on project team. • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager. *Qualifications: * Education: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology, or equivalent. *Required Experience:* - 5 or more years of experience required in Software Application Design and Development * Very good verbal and written communication skills * Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Testing systems/tools * * *Required Skills: * * Involved in successful mid to large size web development projects. Occasional leadership roles.
