Duration:  3-6 Month CONTRACT TO HIRE

Interview:  *Local Candidates Preferred.*  Face To Face interviews if
Local.  Will do Skype/ Web cam if not local.

*Job title: Lead Database Administrator*

General Summary:  The role requires strong collaboration with Application
Development Teams, Business Partners, and key Stakeholders to design and
build robust, scalable, operational solutions to meet business needs.  This
position demands a well-organized, action oriented team player with
exceptional time management skills to support multiple initiatives
simultaneously and in a very fast paced environment.  Must possess strong
written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence
cross functional teams, business partners and/or vendor partners, and
technology leaders.  Can translate a technical conversation to a
non-technical audience as well as engage in a non-technical conversation
and translate into technical terms.



Qualifications



Experience:

•             10 years of experience administering various multi-Terabyte,
24x7 uptime Oracle databases. MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF LEAD EXPERIENCE

•             Experience working with Oracle versions 10g, 11g and 12c in a
UNIX environment a must.

•             Strong programming experience in PL/SQL, UNIX shell
scripting, PowerShell and Perl/Python.

•             Prior experience in software development is a strong plus

•             Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM,
Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is required.

•             Experience with Oracle 12c Goldengate in a RAC environment is
a plus.

•             Experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle RMAN and
Veritas NetBackup.

•             Experience with Database security, access management and
monitoring.

•             Experience fulfilling regulatory compliance auditing and
evidence collection (Sarbanes Oxley).



Education:

•             Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is
preferred.





Preferred Qualifications:

•             DBA experience with MS SQL Server and Teradata is a strong
plus.

•             Prior Retail Industry experience is a plus.

Reports to:  Senior Manager, Database Administration



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•             Functions as a leader for the functional area.

•             Provides direction to team members as assigned by management.

•             Provides recommendations to management on behalf of the team.

•             Responsible for the quality of deliverables in terms of the
technical design, implementation, testing and adherence to technical
compliance standards.

•             Works on and/or leads large, complex projects within IT.

•             Provides hands on technical expertise, provides senior level
technical guidance to staff, project leaders and other teams as necessary.

•             Partners with team members providing business acumen when
preparing business cases.

•             Influences and is engaged in organizational direction of
functional area; creating business cases.

•             Not only provides feedback about the work, but can also coach
associates around personnel issues with support of the manager.

•             Supports his/her manager with resource management
responsibilities.

•             Provides feedback to manager regarding associates’
performance; can help support associates with IDP’s and other development
objectives; participates in talent review discussions

•             Builds confidence and respect of others; is genuinely
interested in associates’ success and well being

•             Review database design and stored procedures, and recommends
opportunities for enhancement.

•             Defining, documenting and maintaining DBA team processes and
SOPs.

•             Perform research and analysis on upcoming releases of
databases and technologies.

•             Ability to effectively communicate recommendations to
individuals and groups.

•             Automates mundane database tasks.

•             Genuinely interested in writing technical documents related
to database activities

•             Leads the work of others (trains, mentors, delegates,
prioritizes and reviews assignments).

•             Must have the ability to operate in a fast-paced project
environment and be flexible to meet project deadlines.

•             Coordinate with Enterprise & Data Architects for planning and
implementing database solutions.

•             Establishes policies and procedures pertaining to the
management, security and maintenance and use of the database management
system.





Required Skills and Competencies:

•             Strong, proven Oracle Database Performance Tuning skills.

•             Must have strong problem solving, analytical and diagnostic
skills.

•             Good knowledge and understanding of IT Infrastructure
(Enterprise Systems, Networking, IT Security etc.).
