Hope you are doing great, I am looking for a Senior Oracle DBA. This role will be a hands-on position, dealing a lot with physical database implementation for DDL and DML. There will be evening work that will be doing deployment - potentially Friday evenings/Weekends (employment from home). They are looking to interview and hire asap. Senior Oracle DBA Location: Downtown Chicago, IL Duration: 6-18 months - GC or USC Only Roles and Responsibilities: - Under the direction of the Data Architect, the Data Analyst/Application DBA develops and finalizes DDL scripts for deployment to the Oracle database. - These scripts are based on project data model designs in support of the Wealth Management organization's information systems and business requirements. - This position requires concurrent support of multiple projects in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of data models (read and interpret physical models), knowledge of Oracle 11g (Grid, RAC configuration), Exadata, the Creation, and packaging of DDL scripts is required. Knowledge of Oracle performance tuning, and space utilization techniques is also required. - Additionally, this position involves the creation and packaging of DML scripts and uploading of these to all environments (DEV, SYS, UAT, and PROD) of the database. - Responsibilities specific to the company include the ability to learn our deployment processes, and interaction with in-house DBA’s to effect deployments and resolve database issues as needed. - Most deployments will occur off –hours over weekends but usually do not take more than a few hours. - Deployments are scheduled to occur once per month but additional off-schedule deployments may be necessary from time to time. Ability to design and write view logic within-in Oracle is also required. Data Analysis and data profiling SQL skills is also required. The Data Analyst/Application DBA job duties: - Reading and interpreting data warehouse model designs. - Solid experience in Physical Database (Oracle) design including the creation, versioning and packaging of DDL and DML scripts. - Solid experience with Oracle (11g) (Grid, RAC configuration) indexes, partitions, stored procedures, and general performance tuning. - Understanding of 3rd normal form (Inmon) and dimensional (Kimball) database techniques - Previous experience with Oracle Database Administration is preferred. - Solid experience in source system data assessment and evaluation using SQL. (Tracing data lineage, availability) - Solid experience in creating simple and complex VIEWS used for interfaces. - Experience in a financial environment is a plus.
