AIX Unix Admin -*NO H1B* 6 mos - CTH Schaumburg, IL *Must pass a drug test and background check once offered position* Overview: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Carry out the technical review of systems as designated by the Supervisor of System Administration and act as a trouble-shooter for a variety of system problems. Provides technical support to associates or clients for system administration, system operation, or system development tasks. Provide hardware and software configurations for new Linux and AIX and application implementations and system upgrades as assigned. Develop tools to support or enhance Linux and AIX based products as related to operations staff. Responsibilities: Production Technologies: Installation, configuration, and tune RHEL servers and environment (IPA and Satellite) Installation, configuration, and tuning of AIX 5.3/6.x/7.x Operate and maintain Puppet environment Operate and maintain Splunk environment Disaster recovery Capacity planning and dynamic resource allocation Secondary Skills: Puppet Security: Understand and implement OS security best practices Application security Network security HIPAA requirements 24x7 support Documentation Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; or equivalent combination of Education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and internal clients. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or Diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Thorough understanding of Linux, RedHat and AIX systems and software.
