*Required Skills:*

2+ years’ experience with AWS Development

Must have experience with AWS Cloud implementation

3+ years Java/ Oracle experience

Prior C# development experience

Experience in an Agile environment

Ability to work independently with little direction

Excellent written and verbal skills

*Desired Skills: *

Prior experience with Solaris & Linux is preferred

Experience with Big Data (Hadoop or MapReduce)

Kafka or similar Streaming methodology experience not required but a plus

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
field is strongly desired

*Description of Role/Responsibilities: *

We are looking for an IT Professional who has experience with a prior AWS
Cloud implementation.  This person is coming aboard while the organization
is moving from Solaris and Linux in their current environment functionality
in the Cloud. Ideal candidates will be able to work with minimal direction
and have experience in an Agile environment. The selected individual will
need to hit the ground running as there is no shortage of work to be
completed.  If you are looking to embark on a new project and want to work

Additional Detail:

*Skills *

Experienced cloud developer to implement AWS cloud services. The work will
involve setting up a cloud environment, prototyping and validating
implementation strategies and options, and porting functionality from
existing systems to the AWS cloud. This work will be in an Agile
development environment.

Nature of work, skill sets involved:

o Setting up Java applications to run on AWS
- Lambdas
- EC2s (long running/heavy weight)
- Cloud containers, AWS CloudFormation Templates, Docker, etc.

o Setting up workflow on AWS
- AWS step functions look promising. Define workflow, auto-retry failures,
monitoring tools, etc.
o Triggers on S3 to initiate workflow when files arrive

o Setting up file systems on AWS:
- S3 storage
- Glacier Storage (long term storage)

o Configuring permissions/access between AWS and on premise resources:
- Unix/Linux file systems
- Oracle Databases
- SOAP services

o Analyzing and Porting existing Java/JDBC applications and Oracle
databases to an alternative RDBMS on AWS:
- SQL Server
- Triggers
- Stored Procedures
- DB links to other DBs
- Functions

o Analyzing and porting Linux/Unix functionality
- Unix shell scripts

o Working with XML content

o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,
interpersonal skills (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
o Strong mentoring skills for bringing others up to speed on Cloud
programming and deliverables produced (Required)
o Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from
business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional
specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required)
o Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed
to resolve issue
o Experience with AWS Cloud technologies, SQL, Java, JDBC, RDBMs (Required)
