*Job Title : Oracle DBA Location : Boston, MA ( Need Local to MA or who can go for F2F Interview ) Duration : 12 Months Rate : $50/Hr Need Local to MA or who can go for F2F Interview !!* Responsibilities • Provide Oracle DBMS and PLSQL expertise to development teams. • Provides beeper support on a 24x7 basis. • Provide support for weekend releases and maintenance windows. • Responsible for performance tuning, backups, database enhancements, installations and upgrades, technical initiatives. • Work with on and offshore support teams to accomplish technical efforts in support of the business needs. • Implements and reinforces corporate data security and confidentiality policies on DBMS • Acts as a liaison with business technology teams. • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. • Coordinate and work with infrastructure teams for change control and deployment. • Provide Oracle Database and query optimization and recovery. • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues. • Plan, deploy and administer disaster recovery infrastructure. • Work closely with infrastructure teams on capacity planning and tuning. Qualifications: • Oracle DBA with 5 + years experience in a mission critical production database environment. • Must have Proven Oracle Database Administration experience with most of the following - VLDB, Oracle 9i, 10g, 11 including Oracle RAC 10 and 11, Oracle Clusterware, ASM, Dataguard, Streams, Partitioning, DataWarehousing, Grid Control-OEM, RMAN. • Oracle Development Experience, strong Sql, PlSql skills • Strong Unix/Linux experience, Programming & Shell/Perl scripting skills. • Strong Oracle database and query optimization and recovery skills. • Practical experience in managing database security. • Excellent troubleshooting skills in identifying and resolving production problems quickly in high availability environments. • Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues stemming from multiple sources including Hardware, Software, OS, and Network equipment. • Ability to work effectively as part of an escalation team to resolve critical issues. • Ability to work with business units to understand their challenges and translate to appropriate technical solutions. • Good verbal and written communication along with the ability to articulate technical solutions for various audiences • Ability to interface with users at all levels of the organization and good end-user support skills. Must be well-organized, responsible, work effectively in a project management framework, and the ability to create a project plan and manage to it. • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively according to business needs. • Experience with other database systems (SQL Server, Sybase and or DB2) preferred but not required.
